Sign ups are now open! In order to sign up, go to the sign up form. For detailed instructions, keep reading.
Requests:
You may make between 1 and 10 requests.
Each request must include a selection of one fandom from the tagset, 1-2 mediums checked (fanfic, fanart or both), 1-20 relationship or character nominations from the tagset, and 1-9 additional genre tags checked.
In most cases, fandoms and relationship/character tags should autocomplete, but there is a known AO3 bug that sometimes prevents this. If a tag doesn’t autocomplete or appear in the search results, make sure to copy the exact tag from the tagset so that AO3 will accept your sign up form.
Optionally, for each request, you may include extra information about your likes and dislikes in the "Prompts" box, and/or a link to an external page ("letter") with this information. Some participants choose to use external pages because they allow more control over formatting, don't have a length limit, are easier to link and bookmark, and can be edited after sign ups close. If you link an external page, please make sure it's publicly accessible for logged out users. These details are optional for both creators and participants, so you don't have to offer them and your creator doesn't have to take them into account, except for your DNWs. However, many creators find prompts or information about your likes encouraging.
DNWs ("Do Not Wants") must be respected as long as they are reasonable and clear, and included in your sign up form itself. You may not use DNWs to require a very specific work or a particular AU, and your DNWs must not conflict with all or most of the works that could fill your request. DNWs should also be non-judgmentally described and unambiguous. Before using fandom slang, consider whether a creator who has never encountered a term before would know what you mean, and if not, whether they would realize they needed to look it up and easily find the definition you meant. Participants with DNWs which violate these rules may be contacted and required to change them.
Please recall that unrequested gore is an expected part of this exchange. I encourage participants to review requests and DNW any kinds of gore they do not want to receive.
To add another request, click the 'Add another request' button at the bottom of your existing requests. In order to be guaranteed a gift in exchange for your completed assignment, you must request at least three different fandoms. You may request 1-2 fandoms, and I will still post your pinch hit if necessary, but I will not hold the exchange for your gift. You may request the same fandom multiple times in order to request more pairings or different tags, but this will not count towards your minimum number of fandoms.
You do not need to be matchable on requests. A certain number of participants will inevitably be initial pinch hits because of imperfect matching. Any participants who are unmatchable on requests will also become initial pinch hits.
Your requests will be publicly viewable as soon as you click submit.
Offers:
Offers are similar to requests, except that they do not include optional details or links. Fill in the fandom, medium(s), relationships, and additional tag fields for each offer, and click 'Add another offer' to add space for the next offer.
You must offer something another participant is requesting. Participants who are unmatchable on offers will be contacted after sign ups close and given twenty-four hours to reply with an offer they would like to add in order to be matchable. If they do not reply, or do not want to add offers, their sign ups will be deleted.
When you have finished filling in your offers and requests, click submit. Occasionally there will be a problem, in which case the field which could not be submitted will have an error message next to it. Otherwise, at this point you may review the Requests Summary in order to see all requests. You may return to your sign up page to edit it at any point until sign ups close.
